Ismail Danbaba, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The lawmaker was abducted on Saturday evening, May 29, while travelling to Jos, Plateau state for an official function.
According to The Nation, Danbaba was said to have passed Andaha in Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa and he was heading to the forest area in Sanga local government of Kaduna when the kidnappers attacked and abducted
In a statement confirming the lawmaker’s abduction, Hon Mohammed Omadefu who is the chairman of the Nasarawa assembly committee on information said the kidnappers have contacted the family of Danbaba, though no demand has been made.
“The lawmaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr Ismail Danbaba, who is representing Nasarawa Central, was kidnapped yesterday in the evening while he was on his way for an official function along Akwanga/Jos road in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State,” he said.
According to Daily Trust, three other people were kidnapped alongside the serving lawmaker.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that some unknown gunmen have ended the life of former Special Adviser (Politics) to former president Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak.
Gulak was gunned down in Imo state when he was on his way to Abuja from Owerri.

The news of his death was made known by his classmate, Dr Umar Ado in a statement on Sunday.
The former adviser’s death came amid insecurity in the northern and southern parts of the country.
Hundreds of people have been killed and kidnapped in Nigeria over the last five months in what is destabilising the peace and unity among different tribes in the country.
