She was quoted by the Nation:

“I could not believe it until I saw them. I was told the babies were in good condition, but they had to remain in the incubators for a whole month until each attained a weight of two kilograms.”

The joyful woman revealed her late grandmother, whom she was named after, had also sired twins showing blessings in the family.

We need help now

Wambui’s joy, however, was short-lived as she now ponders how she would take care of her babies, considering she and her husband are casual labourers earning a meagre KSh 300 (N1,145.70) a day.

The woman who dropped out of school after she became partially blind appealed for well-wishers and the government to help her raise the kids.

Wambui pleaded:

“What we need most at the moment are milk and clothes.”

Her husband said she is currently housed at his in-laws, considering the dire situation they are in.
