Insecurity: PDP calls for Uzodimma’s immediate resignation

In the statement which signals the tragic event may create a crack in the APC, Bilal accused the governor of trying to sweep the case under the carpet.

He alleged that Gulak’s murder was premeditated and executed by those who had repeatedly targeted northerners in the southeast region.

Bilal described Governor Uzodimma’s imputation of political motives in Gulak’s death as suspicious.

He said:

“Since he has imputed political motive to it, as the chief security officer of the state, he should produce the perpetrators.”

Buhari should intervene

The Adamawa APC chair also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to use his good offices to secure justice for Gulak, Sahara Reporters also stated.

He also urged the federal government to go after the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and crush the group using its full might.

Contrary to Governor Uzodimma’s claim, Bilal accused the outlawed group of killing Gulak.

Uzodimma blames Imo security crisis on PDP

Meanwhile, the Imo state government has accused the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of fueling the rising levels of insecurity in the southeast state.

This follows a statement by the PDP calling for the resignation of Governor Hope Uzodimma, saying that has failed to secure the lives and property of the Imo people.

However, the state government in a statement sent to Legit.ng on Friday, June 4, by the commissioner of information, Declan Emelumba, said the PDP’s statement “is a clear case of self-indictment of the party as the real perpetrators of insecurity in the state.”
