– N’Golo Kante performed wonderfully well for Chelsea at the just concluded season winning the Champions League
– The France international has been rated as the favorite to win the Ballon d’Or award ahead of Ronaldo and Messi
– Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is another player rated high for the prestigious Ballon d’Or
Man of the moment N’Golo Kante of Chelsea has stated clearly that he would be glad to win the Ballon d’Or award stressing that it is too early for him to be picked for the prestigious prize.
Kante played a significant role in his side’s brilliant show in the Champions League which helped the Blues to win the title beating Manchester City in the final.
The France international prevented the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling from getting their games in the Champions League final against Chelsea.
And after the encounter, fans started rating N’Golo Kante as the favourite for the Ballon d’Or award and he is expected to face serious competition from the likes of Robert Lewandowski.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have both dominated the Ballon d’Or award for years in which these two players have shared 11 between themselves.
According to the report on GOAL, N’Golo Kante explained that there are still many competitions coming that will determine who will win the Ballon d’Or award.
“It’s a bit early to talk about it now. We are in the middle of the year, there are six months left, and lots of matches and competitions to play. It’s not necessary to say today that I deserve it,
“A few years ago I was in the top 10. It was the first time and it was nice. But winning it is another story.”
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Jorginho was pleasantly surprised for his impressive contributions to Chelsea’s Champions League triumph over Manchester City in Porto last month.
The midfielder’s partnership with N’golo Kante helped the Blues stifle movement from their opponent while Kai Havertz went ahead to score the only goal that handed them the trophy.
While the Frenchman has been praised for his displays in the final last weekend, little has been said about the former Napoli man in spite of his performances.
However, while the 29-year-old was at an Italian restaurant in London, he got a grand reception from their staff.
They made him so special after serving his meal in a giant Champions League trophy-style bowl and all the staff gathered to honour the football star.
