Didier Deschamps who is the handler of the French national senior’s men team has slammed Jose Mourinho for his inability to succeed before being sacked at Premier League side Tottenham.
There is no doubt about the fact that Jose Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world considering his achievements in coaching at all the clubs he has managed.
Before being fired earlier this year as the coach of Tottenham, Jose Mourinho was in charge of for only 17 months as he failed to impress Spurs’ chiefs.
Interestingly, Jose Mourinho got another job days after being sacked at Tottenham and he will be in charge of Roma in the coming Italian League season.
The EURO 2020 is around the corner as players are currently at the camp of their national teams preparing for the Championship.
According to the report on Football London, Jose Mourinho has claimed that France will have to win the championship for them to be successful.
France will be going into the EURO 2020 tournament as the champions of the world having won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Didier Deschamps has now given Jose Mourinho a big response claiming that he also thought the Portuguese would succeed while with Tottenham.
“I thought the same thing about his Tottenham team, but it did not end up happening like that.
“Automatically, with the status of world champions, we are favourites, with three more years of experience. I have a very important offensive potential.”
The 30-year-old joined Los Blancos in a deal valued at around €115 million in 2019 but has failed to live up to the huge prize since then – with a series of injuries hampering his performances for them.
He has made just 45 appearances scoring five times and assisting eight other goals after two seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Mourinho is now hoping to reunite with the Belgian forward having already worked together during the Portuguese’s second stint at Chelsea.
