TB Joshua: Okowa, Ortom mourn popular Lagos-based prophet

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta has commiserated with the Joshua family and members of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on the death of their son, and founder, Prophet Temitope Joshua.

Governor Okowa’s condolence message was contained in a statement sent to Legit.ng on Monday, by his spokesman, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika.

Okowa said that the renowned cleric’s demise was shocking, and described it as a huge loss to the Christian community in Nigeria and across the world.

Part of the statement read:

“It is with great sadness that I, my family, the government, and people of Delta commiserate with the Christian community, the Joshua family, and the entire SCOAN on the passing away of renowned televangelist, Prophet Temitope Joshua.

“He was a strong voice in the Christian community where he commanded great following, performed miracles, and taught the word of God with passion.”

Similarly, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state sent his sympathies to SCAON and the entire Christian community in Nigeria over the death of Prophet T.B Joshua.

The governor describes the sudden demise of the renowned preacher as shocking and unfortunate.

He said the evangelist will be remembered not only for spreading the gospel of Christ but also for his humanitarian works through which he positively touched millions of lives.

Governor Ortom prayed that God grants the soul of Prophet T.B Joshua eternal rest and his family and members of his church the strength to bear the loss.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had also commiserated with the family and members of SCOAN on the passing of their father and founder.

The president’s commiseration with SCOAN members and the immediate family of the deceased were contained in a statement released on his behalf by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, and seen by Legit.ng.

Buhari stated that the renowned televangelist will be missed by his followers all over the world not only for his spiritual contributions but for touching many lives through philanthropic gestures.

On his part, the Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams on Sunday, June 6 described the death of Prophet Joshua as an eclipse in God’s vineyard, saying it was a rude shock.

Adams, in a statement sent to Legit.ng on his behalf by his special assistant on media, Kehinde Aderemi stated that Prophet Joshua was an abode for many souls.

Adams, however, prayed for God to grant the immediate family, his kinsmen, the church and the country the fortitude to bear the loss.
