The street kids of Calabar who beg for survival have shared their experience on how they survive on a daily basis.
Speaking with Legit TV, the kids said their source of feeding is remnants from food people drop in the waste bin.
According to the kids, they sleep on the streets and beg people for money to survive.
One of the boys said his father married another wife and his stepmother chased him out of the house.
The boy who has been on the streets for two years said he would like to go back home but his stepmother will send him away.
In his words:
“I use to beg for money and I use to sleep on the streets. I’ll be happy if I see anyone that will get me back home.”
According to the boy, his stepmother was always starving him before sending him out of his father’s house.
He said he would like to be a doctor in the future.

After Roland’s story was published, a number of Nigerians reached out to show their interest in helping him get out of the streets.
One of such persons eventually sent in some items from the United Kingdom and has promised to foot the young boy’s education bills and also get him out of the streets.
