The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced the sacking of a factional chairman of the party, Victor Oye.

The Punch reported that the announcement was made by the national executive committee of the party on Tuesday, June 15.

The party appointed Chief Jude Okeke as the acting national chairman.

A spokesperson for the APGA, Ikechukwu Chinyere, told journalists that the party, also indefinitely suspended other members of the party.

Chinyere disclosed that the other sacked party chiefs suspended include: Chinedu Obidigwe, Hamman Ghide, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Adamu Musa, Chief Okogbuo, Ifeanyi Mbaeri

Vanguard reported that the party also suspended the other national chairman Chief Edozie Njoku from office pending the party’s national convention.

The new acting chairman, Jude Okeke, disclosed that the decisions were taken by the NEC of the party based on the recommendations of a seven-man disciplinary committee report.

The party said:

“That the only legally recognised APGA leadership is the one led by the Acting National Chairman Chief Jude Okeke and that any party member or person dealing with any other purported leadership other than the leadership of Chief Jude Okeke does so at his own peril.”
