Brazilian star Neymar has stated that he will respect the opinion of fellow countrymen who are planning to support Lionel Messi during the Copa America final slated for Saturday night, Independent reports.
Brazil and Argentina face off in the final to be staged at the mythical Maracana in Rio de Janeiro and the world is excited both powerhouses are meeting in a final for the first time since 2007.
The Samba Boys were victorious in the encounter and have gone on to defeat La Albiceleste in every of their meetings since 2005.
Brazil will be hoping to defend the title, while Argentina will battle hard for victory as they are yet to win the Copa America since 1993 edition which they won.
“I’m Brazilian, with a lot of pride and a lot of love.
“My dream was always to play for the Brazilian national team and hear the fans singing. I never attacked or will attack Brazil if they’re playing for something, whether it’s sport, a modelling contest or an Oscar.
“If there’s a Brazilian who does differently? Okay, I’ll respect it, but I’ll dedicate (whatever the team goes and does) to those who are against us.”
Messi wary of Neymar
Meanwhile, Argentina captain Lionel Messi has sent strong warning to his teammates over Brazilian attacker Neymar.
Messi is warning his colleagues ahead of the game saying they must keep an eye on the PSG forward all through the duration of the game.
Both South American teams are currently in superb form, meaning the world should expect a blockbuster final match.
