Crisis in APC as Lagos4Lagos, ex-SSG challenges Tinubu’s leadership

Lagos state –

There is looming implosion in the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princes Aderenle Adeniran Ogunsanya, and Convener, Lagos4Lagos Movement, Abdul Azzez Adediran, have mobilised over 6000 members to challenge the political leadership of National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The duo also called on the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), led by Governor Mai Mala-Buni of Yobe State, to probe and consequently dissolve the Lagos Caretaker Committee headed by Chief Tunde Balogun.

Addressing the members, who were mobilised across 245 wards at a rally held at the Police College, GRA, Ikeja, yesterday, Adediran and Ogunsaya also passed a vote of no confidence on the Balogun-led Caretaker Committee over allegation of fraud.

Lagos APC inaugurates peace, reconciliation committees

Earlier, the ruling APC on Friday, July 2, inaugurated the peace and reconciliation committees to reconcile aggrieved members of the party and ensure victory at local government polls.

In his address, the state chairman, Tunde Balogun expressed his delight at the quality of the membership of the committee with a wide range of experience in years of party administration and government.

He admonished them to painstakingly examined the various emerging issues with a view of making workable recommendations to engender lasting peace and cohesion towards the forthcoming elections.

Lagos APC members protest imposition of candidate

Meanwhile, members of the APC in Lagos state outrightly rejected the alleged imposition of Abdulhameed Salawu as the chairmanship candidate of the party in the forthcoming local government election.

It was reported that Salawu popularly known as Dullar is the incumbent chairman of the Somolu local government area.

The party members on Thursday, June 24, marched peacefully to the Lagos state House of Assembly in protest against the imposition.
